I collaborated on the design of two flagship apps, Twitter and Spotify, for Essential Project Gem, an unconventional smartphone defined by its ultra-tall, narrow form factor. The project required rethinking familiar mobile experiences from the ground up, adapting vertically native, feed-driven interfaces to a one-handed device with real physical and digital constraints. We had to reconsider scrolling, hierarchy, reachability, content density, and gesture behavior so every interaction felt clear, intentional, and fluid.
