Visual Language and Interaction System for a Next-Generation Car Dashboard

 

The objective was to design the visual language and interaction model for a next-generation vehicle dashboard concept built from the ground up around an AI-driven interface. Unlike traditional automotive systems centered on fixed menus and static controls, this platform was conceived as a living, adaptive experience that could learn from the driver and personalize content in real time.

SAIC’s ambition was to be among the first automakers to deliver a dashboard where AI acts as the primary interaction layer, seamlessly connecting the in-car experience with the broader digital life of the customer. Our challenge was to translate that vision into a coherent, legible, and safety-first interface system that balanced automation, personalization, and human control.

The result was a future-ready in-vehicle UX system where AI-driven personalization enhanced driver awareness and comfort without compromising safety, clarity, or trust. A dashboard designed not as a static control surface, but as an adaptive co-pilot for everyday mobility.
